The liveaboard is a beautiful, fully equipped traditional wooden boat that searches for adventures and gets you away from the crowds.
Onboard activities are: scuba diving, SUP, surfing, snorkeling, kayak and fishing.
The South Gilis, also known as the secret gili’s. these islands – Gili in the indigenous Sasak language means Island – are located of the Batugendang peninsula, also known as the Sekotong area, and are not as famous as Gili Trawangan, Meno and Air.
These are actually 16 small islands around the peninsula and only three of them are inhabited by local people (approximatively 2.200 persons): Gili Gede, Gili Asahan, Gili Nanggu, Gili Goleng, Gili Layar, Gili Ringgit, Gili Jangkan and Gili sudak. The Sekotong region is an unspoiled part of Lombok in comparison with Sengigi or Gili Meno, Air and Trawangan.
The boat is unique in its class and build. It is not only comprises of two double, en suite, master cabins. It also includes the largest deck space of any Phinisi for this length. Mikumba II also has a fully functioning transom swim/dive platform.That is unique to this vessel within the Phinisi builds. The recently completed refurbishment has included a complete and thorough overhaul of all ships machinery. From an engine rebuild and the inclusion of a brand new Mitsubishi 30KVA Genset. The purchase of a brand new 50hp 4 stroke powered 18ft R.I.B tender and the installation of a Baur 250 air compressor. As well as the overhaul on all the main engine room and deck machinery The wheel house has been modernized with all the latest navigation aids.
The interior and cabins have all been refurbished and altered to increase the comfort and space onboard. The creative use of bamboo rattan teak and traditional fabrics creates a stylish and an exotic ambience. The ships galley has also been completely transformed into a fully functioning catering area, capable of delivering the highest level of on board cuisine and that befits a vessel much larger than Mikumba II. Mikumba II is fitted with all current and up to date safety devices in accordance with Indonesian and International Maritime compliance including: life rafts, life jackets, flairs, IPRBs and full offshore medical chest. The vessel is currently chartering the north Gili’s (Trawangan, Air, and Meno), the “Secret” southern Gili Islands, South Lombok and the Komodo National Park.
